Wild in the City

Today, we discovered we are all about to become grandmas. There is a lovely bird family making a nest in this basket we have hanging on the deck. There is a fishing basket we brought back from Mexico, and just have hanging out there. I guess it is protected from all the rain and looks like a cozy place to make a nest.

We watched as the female bird would get grass, straw and stuff and bring it back to the nest. The male would sit on our railing and twitter to her....and then they would go off together and come back.

We are hoping that they lay eggs, and we can watch the babies grow up. We need to figure out what kind of bird that are.....to be continued.
