No outside baby, yet...

So, no labor....no contractions (at least, not real ones).....no water breaking, nothing. My friend who I worked with and was a week ahead of me, is in labor as we speak, and I wish the best for her.

With Mo, I was induced a week after my due date. The midwife has already said, they won't let me go more than a week past my due date (due to my advanced maternal age). So, if I don't go into labor in the next 2 weeks, I will be induced.

I have never experienced that mad dash to the hospital, my water breaking at the grocery store, or any of those sit-com 'going into labor' scenarios.

I kind of want to.

Such a big girl....

I have been so impressed with Mo lately, she just seems to be growing up so quickly.....

Last summer at this time, the following things would NEVER had happened....

1. Mo would play in her room by herself for an hour or so......she will even go up on her own, and just say that she wants some playtime.

2. Mo would go with me to school, and keep herself entertained so I could get work done in my classroom.

But both of these things have happened and more than one time, it just seems like she is getting so mature....and so...big! It is bittersweet, for sure. But she is so happy and proud of herself....it is worth it!

The new bean

Well, I still have an inside baby......I am due in about 10 days....although, I could go at anytime. When I was pregnant before, I never really had any contractions to speak of. Mo was a week late, and I had to be induced. So, all this action in the tummy region is new to me.

I have a feeling this baby will be born early. I don't know why I think that, but I do. I have been doing all I can to prepare for that. Our bags are packed and in the car.....the nursery is ready (as much as it is going to be)....and all our supplies are out ready for new baby to come.

I am getting excited, but also nervous. I feel like I won't remember how to take care of an itty bitty. I am worried that something will be wrong...or that labor will go wrong. Right now, everything is good, and I would like to stay at this stage for a little while longer. I am not super uncomfortable, so it isn't that bad.......but this baby is coming....and I am excited to meet her, to see what she will look like, what she will be like. It is amazing that another little bean is coming.

Birthday Party

We had a wonderful time celebrating Mo's 5th birthday......we invited just a few friends from her pre-school to come over. It was a BLAST. I don't think we will be able to get away with a home birthday party next year.....she has been to enough birthdays at bouncy houses, gyms, craft places to know that there are better options than our backyard for a birthday party. But, if this was the last one, it was a good one!!!!

My first attempt at cake pops....not bad....and I had help from my niece who was visiting that week!

Have you seen anything cuter! Mo is finally letting me do something, anything to her hair. She won't leave the house in pigtails (although she should).....Mo usually likes to rock the side pony, with the occasional braid.......but we are branching out, and starting to wear barrettes, head bands. It is so much fun!!!!

Santa Fe

Over Spring Break, Mo and I went down to visit Nana in Santa Fe, it was good to see her in her new house, and Mo loved getting all the attention!!!!

Milestones

So, Mo turned 5 earlier this month.....which is big birthday, I think. We decided this would be the year of the bicycle. We got her a new helmet, a bell, a safety flag, and of course.....a big girl bike. Now, Mo was already very good at using her skuut bike (the one without any pedals), so she had the balance part down. All she needed to learn was how to pedal, steer, and balance at the same time......

She went out on her new bike the weekend of her birthday.....and then we took some time away from it (just busy with life).....but, this weekend, she was fired up to try it some more. So, we did one practice session yesterday, and then again this afternoon.....and look what she can do!!!!
