Last night was our 2nd movie night. This is something that in my mind I always imagined I would do with my family....sure enough....Scout had the same mental picutre....and finally Mo is big enough...that movie night has started. It goes something like this....
We get take-out (I don't cook on Fridays)......Mo takes a bath. We all get into our PJs, and curl up on the couch with popcorn, blankets, and pillows.
The first movie night, we watched Aristocats. Now, it is Mo's favorite....she calls it Mistocats! There were some parts that were scary to her, but she loves it just the same.
Last night, we watched Finding Nemo.....not a good choice.....Mo started crying pretty soon into it when the "Memo lost his baby"......I think it just struck a chord in her about being lost, and she didn't like it. Now, I don't know about you, but the last thing I wanted was for her to be scared. So, when Nemo ends up in the fish tank (Mo is crying hard at this point)....I come up with....."Don't worry, he is just at daycare....his daddy is coming to pick him up." Seemed to settle her down, but Scout pointed out that might not have been the best explanation to give our child! I have no idea what she has taken away from this movie......time will tell.....
Until then.....we need to find some nice, tame Disney movies....Bambi, no......Jungle Book....no.....maybe Lady and the Tramp.

Real Girls get DIRTY!

Mo has this new fasciation with bulldozers....it started because we go through some major construction on the way to work everyday. She has decided she wants to 'ride' the bulldozer.
Today, when we came home....a small bulldozer was digging up our neighbor's sidewalk......Here is Mo looking at the whole process in awe.....Sorry for the picture quality, I took it with my cell phone.

I pay gosh...."
May sound like gibberish to you, but in our family....that is Mo saying "I play golf!" Today, Scout picked her up from school, and they went to the golf course....just to the putting green. They putted the ball, they rolled the ball.....Mo played in the sand box - I mean sand trap....they had a blast. She loved sitting in the golf cart, and picking up the little flag cups and dumping out the golf balls.
Can anyone say scholarship?
Afterwards, Scout took her to McDonald's for fruit-yogurt cup and apple juice.....THEN, went to the store to get a new baby doll......just a little spoiled!
P.S. The new baby doll's name is "new big baby." I tried for Emma, Abbie, Libby.....no, New Baby Doll is this one's name.

Indian Summer
Today was a whopping 86 degrees......JUST BEAUTIFUL.....we had a nice breakfast with some friends at Rumpspankers (which is rump-spanking good).....Scout played golf with our neighbor, and Mo and I took the dogs for a walk. Mo loves to walk....mostly she just loves to say 'hi!' to all the neighbors we come across. We did have to take a short break, when Mo fell and skinned her knee. But after a few minutes she proclaimed herself ready to go. Atta girl!

Easy Bake Oven
For the wedding we went to last month, Mo got a wonderful apron as a flower-girl gift. It is the perfect excuse to bake! Today when we got home, we made chocolate chip cookies. Mo helped 'stir' the flour, soda, and salt. Only a little bit got everywhere!!!!! She loved watching the mixer and trying to pour things in the bowl.
Most favorite was taking big swipes with her finger in the batter. She was on quality control, and apperently, everything was satisfactory.

Love this smile!

Shoe Fetish
One of Mo's favorite things to do is try on shoes. When we go to our friends' houses, she always puts on the shoes.....she wears my shoes, and Scout's. She just loves 'walking a mile' in someone else's shoes.
When we took her to Nordstrom to go shoe shopping, she was in heaven. For the first time, she could put them on by herself, and at one point had two different kinds on at the same time. She was in hog heaven!!!! We ended up buying 3 pairs that day.....with this one being her most favorite. Aren't they fancy.....she picked them out.

RIP
This post is to serve as a eulogy for our dear, departed, goldfish Bogey. He passed away sometime in the night. Mo doesn't know. Not that we didn't tell her, she just hasn't noticed. I think I will let it lie, until she notices he is no longer in the tank, and tell her he went "away."
I don't really want to get into any "what happens after we die" discussions.....Neither of us are ready for that.
But Bogey did give good service to our family. He came to us on Easter with 2 of his buddies, Birdie and Divot (good golfing goldfish)....the other 2 died quickly...but Bogey somehow managed to live. But alas, his little fish life is over.
There is a good chance I can get another goldfish and sneak him into the tank and Mo will never notice.....
